Steps to Proven Success

All participants in the Creating Employability Options Program (CEO) participate in a Pre Employment Workshop.  The focus of this 4 week session is to ensure our participants are 'work-ready'.  Being 'work-ready' can mean many different things: all of which are directly related to the overall success of our participants in a job or volunteer opportunity. Our workshop focuses on both hard and soft skills, further ensuring our participants are prepared for any new challenge an opportunity may bring.

Personal Skill Identification:

The first module of this workshop focuses on the self-identification of the personal skills of each participant.  Our CEO Staff will guide participants to understand how previous work or volunteer experiences, life experiences, and involvement in the community may translate into viable skills that can be offered to potential new employers.  From this identification process, professional and accurate resumes and cover letters are developed with each participant.

Personal Skill Realization:

The second module of this workshop guides participants to understand the best ways to professionally present themselves to potential employers.  Participants are presented the best practices for contacting employers and preparing for personal interviews: the '10 Most Commonly Asked Interview Questions' and 'What To Do When' exercises are explored.  Participants will have an opportunity to take part in 'mock' interviews to further reinforce their interviewing skills. This module also introduces participants to an understanding of what on-the-job expectations an employer may have, to their rights as an employee and to health and safety issues in the workplace. 

Personal Skill Implementation:

Our experience is that failure to prepare is much like preparing to fail: we strongly believe that an informed start is the best way to start.  Upon completion of this Pre Employment Workshop, our participants are more ready than ever for the final step: Employment!  Working directly and personally with our Employment Facilitators to find that perfect opportunity.  Employers of our participants attest that the employees they have acquired through our CEO Program are unparalleled in their ability to achieve success in the workplace!
